New Spirit Dolls

Hello, I’m Julia Inglis, the founder & maker at Sacred Familiar. Welcome! I make textile art inspired by nature, myth & magic and release a small family of new spirit dolls woven from natural fibres, plant dyes and filled with herbs & flowers in my monthly letter to our subscribers.

The spirit dolls sell quite quickly and so by being a subscriber you will see them and have first option to become a keeper. In our monthly letter I share stories of folk magic & tales from pilgrimages made to Scotland, Ireland and Cornwall where I make journeys to ancestral lands to leave dolls for the spirits of the land and for the forgotten & bring back fibres, textiles to create with when I return home to our cottage by the wild North West sea in lutruwita / Tasmania.

Journeying Sessions with Julia

Memories can haunt us like old spells until we journey to meet them and make sense of the past. The well of memory holds many stories and beliefs.

Some of these stories and memories may be ‘family folklore’ :: ancestral beliefs and patterns held in the family lineage. We may also be experiencing memories from past lives or from the collective unconscious, such as recollections of the burning times and witch persecutions.

These memories can be so alive and strong in our spirits that they can feel real for us today. Together we can journey to find the tangle in the thread of memory to understand what is in past and most importantly, open ourselves up to the dormant gifts that are waiting to be shared in your life now.
